In a holographic master, all properties of the hologram are defined. With the various exposure technologies, it is possible to expose computer-generated files, images, vector graphics or short film sequences into a holographic film. The reactive photopolymer film is exposed by means of different lasers with resolutions up to > 600,000 dpi and thus the original file is brought onto the holographic film in a unique way. The individual lines of the resulting relief structure thereby diffract the reflecting light at different angles that have been calculated beforehand. There are various systems that can be used to create the master, depending on individual security requirements.

The exposure system of the Dot Matrix Lithography technology provides effects in the high security segment with up to 120.000 dpi. A large part of the holographic applications can be covered with this proven system. All DML exposure effects require an external light source for in-depth viewing. Generally, a hologram is illuminated from an angle of 45° from above in order to best see the imprinted elements in direct view. The animations are made visible either by moving the light source or the hologram.

Nano-Optical Imaging

The Nano Optical Imaging technology exposure system enables the most forgery-proof effects in a hologram, absolutely unique and comparable to electron beam exposures, with up to 637.000 dpi. With this technology it is possible to create effects that can be obtained even with indirect lighting, such as the relief effects and the black/white elements. The depth effect is considerably stronger than in the DML hologram and offers completely different design possibilities.


In the table below you can see the possible holographic effects of the various master technologies. Each higher security level includes the one below it and greatly expands the difficulty level for forgers. Each hologram is unique in its structures, which have been specified in the design.

Hologram Labels & Tamper Evident Tape

With our various systems for master creation of a hologram label or a holographic security feature for use in the hot- or cold-transfer process, we offer you any degree of creative freedom you need to create your personal design and realize a unique label seal for your product. The embossing of the hologram in combination with various Tamper Evident Label effects in the base material creates a structure in the label which not only ensures anti-forgery in the shaping of the relief structure, but also provides an absolute guarantee of durability and destructiveness in the event of peel-off attempts when applied to the substrate.

Seamlessly embossed hologram foil

In the recombining process, the aim is to obtain a printing plate that can be used in so-called wide-web or narrow-web machines. The printing plates are placed around a cylinder, whereby a so-called “shimline” is created on the side where the plate ends meet, which can interfere with continuous motifs and lead to problems during further processing, e.g. in lamination processes in the packaging sector. Thanks to a new technique in the manufacturing process of embossing shims, seamless holographic embossing cylinders can be produced, making it possible to manufacture „Seamless Packaging Film”. These seamless foils can be processed much better and more efficiently.
